The Red Lion raises £800 for Breast Cancer Now

When we came up with the idea of running an afternoon tea at the pub as part of the Breast Cancer Now August fundraiser, we had no idea how incredible it would be. Neighbours arrived with an abundance of cake and prizes for the raffle, supporters came from local villages to attend the event and monies were collected both via our Just Giving page and physically at the pub. Decorations were hung, bone china tea sets were out of storage and the raffle prizes were organised. The cake table looked incredible with homemade treats and the Garden Room was the perfect location for it.

A huge thank you to everyone who came out to support the event - popped in for cake, spent the afternoon with us, sold raffle tickets and actively bought friends and neighbours over to join us! In total we raised over £800 for the charity, smashing our £500 target! We're over the moon that we could raise this for such a fantastic charity and assist them in supporting anyone suffering from breast cancer.
